Susan O'Malley AIR 2007
Over a game of Tarot at an art cafe in San Francisco, Susan and I decided to create a collaborative project together--with art students, with my art colleague Eric Oldmixon, with the entire school community. She came to campus, had conversations with students, and had a tour of the campus. These were her ideas for the gallery installation--
- school-wide doodle contest. the winning images were printed 30"x40" and were the first thing you saw as you entered the gallery
- found posters. after visiting the school lost and found, she invited students to pick an object and make a poster in search of the owner. poster and object were displayed in the gallery.
- school-wide hand portraits. we set up shot in the student commons and invited everyone to get their picture taken. the final images were printed 5"x5" and were installed side by side throughout the gallery.
